We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the honorable mention winners of our “Hong Kong Pixel Homes” competition - Ksymena Borczyńska and Bartosz Kobylakiewicz from Poland!

Ksymena Borczyńska and Bartosz Kobylakiewicz from Poland

Having spent the last five years studying and working, we are about to graduate from the Silesian University of Technology, Poland. We met while doing our internship at BIG in Copenhagen, hit it off right away and decided to do a competition together. Now Bartosz is leaving for New York to work for OMA and Ksymena is starting her Master’s in Architecture at TU Delft.

We have worked on a wide range of projects varying in scale and function both at the university and in the offices that we did internships for (BIG, UNStudio, MVRDV). Ksymena is mainly intrested in dwelling, while Bartosz – in extreme environments.

Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?

We find it compelling to do in-depth research and look for creative solutions in the fields of architecture we are not familiar with. And that is just what the vision competitions are all about.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
